Preferences of Fresh Mechanical Engineering Graduates

Students prefer mechanical engineering as career in colleges, for want of better and vast job opportunities. Once, they are on the verge of leaving colleges, what are the effects of mechanical engineering education on them, in terms of industry placement, graduates' choice of mechanical engineering subjects, preference for higher studies in engineering, and choice of working in a particular area in industry, etc. This study has tried to explore these aspects, which affect the graduates, industries and society, subsequently. The results are inadequate placements, lack of inspiration for core mechanical engineering subjects, less inclination for higher education in mechanical engineering and unfulfilled choices for work areas in industry.
