Abstract
Fodowing the work of Tissier' in 1900, it was believed that bifidobacteria was exclusively found in the faeces of breast-fed infants- Subsequently, it was discovered that this organism is also found in human adult intestines, vaginal secreiioDS of pregnant women, mouth and alimentary tract of various species of animals.
