Cancer has become a major cause of death in the last 20 years. Although the disease has been regarded principally as a problem of the developed world, more than half of all cancers occur in the developing countries. Cancer prevalence in India is estimated to be around 2.5 million with over 8,00,000 new cases and 5,50,000 death occurring each year in the country.
