The responses to intravenous administration of calcium have been studied extensively during the past two decades. Based upon the body retention of calcium, infusion has been reported to be of value as a diagnostic in studies of parathormone function and in the evaluation of bone healing therapy and for the clinical improvement of osteoporosis.
