The first chapter discusses the genetic problems encountered in the biosynthesis of tetracyline antibiotics and steps to obtain high-production strains such that higher yields could be achieved in the fermentation processes. The second article deals with the applications of the findings of genetics of fungi imperfects, especially mushrooms which are industrially important.
