Intelligence is considered to be the highest mental ability, which is said to be the core of competency of individual in every field. A child's developmental level is the end result of a wide variety of factors-prenatal, parental and postnatal. The genetic aspect of intelligence which sets the boundaries of further development in intelligence after birth is also under question. A constant effort is being made to establish the relationship between nutrition and intelligence, either through inductive or through deductive reasoning. Many child developmentalists and psychologists suggest that, the pre-school age is the most important growing period for academic achievements.
