Nutritional anthropometry is the measurement of human body at various ages and levels of nutritional status. It is based on the concept that an appropriate measurement should reflect any morphological variation occurring due to significant functional physiological change. The relationship between nutrition and physical work efficiency has attracted attention of nutritionists all over the world because of its socio-economic implications. A number of parameters related to physical work efficiency have been measured among under-nourished populations. Physical work capacity measures the work output in the laboratory under artificial conditions. Indias main occupation is agriculture and a huge population (labour force) are involved in the food production front, Indian farmers are conservative, backward or indifferent. They are poor in health and nutritional status. Poor nutrition affects the work capacity and productivity. The present study was designed with the objective of finding out the relationship between body weight and physical work capacity among agricultural and non-agricultural workers of both the sexes.

It is based on the concept that an appropriate measurement should reflect any morphological variation occurring due to significant functional physiological change. The relationship between nutrition and physical work efficiency has attracted attention of nutritionists all over the world because of its socio-economic implications.
