In subjects Facet Relation and Phase Relation are two principal types of relations recognized by Ranganthan's Colon Classification (CC ) in the Idea Place (lP) and implemented in the Notational Plane (NP). CC also recognizes two main types of Phase Relation-Inter-Subject Phase Relation (that is, Phase Relation between subjects going with different Basic Subjects) and Intra-Subject Phase Relation (that is, Phase Relation within subjects going with a Basic Subject). In the latter case it may be a Phase Relation between two facets of a subject (that is, Intra-Facet Phase Relation), or it may be a Phase Relation between two isolates in the same array in a facet of a subject (that is, Intra-Array Phase Relation).
