Citation Pattern in the Field of Environmental Sciences

Study presents and analyse 2993 references appended to 274 articles published in Indian Journal of Environmental Protection vol. 14 and 15, 1994 and 1995 respectively. The analysis determined the average number of references per articles, forms of documents, authorship pattern, length of article and the obsolence of literature. Results indicate that major form of document is periodical 1795 (59.973%), authorship pattern shows, highest contribution is made by two authors 613 (34.150%) and in this field research go back to 20 years, it accounts 1390 (77.437 %).
