Human Resources Management in SMEs:An Analysis of Recruitment and Selection Practices in Albanian SMEs

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the importance of human resources management particularly recruitment and selection practices on the performance of the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) sector in Albania. The analysis is based on statistics come mainly from Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), national surveys results on SMEs in Albania, studies published by European Commission and some empirical studies on human resources management in SMEs. The paper concludes that the rapid changes in the Albanian economy identify the need for change in models of human resource management policy and practice in SMEs.

This work contributes to the wider knowledge on development of SMEs, operating in Albania.

Abstract
