Research and development in organic photovoltaic cells have gained wider acceptance due to the advent of many advanced techniques to enhance the efficiency and operational hours. Here we report the effort made to design and simulate the bulk heterojunction organic photo cell in different configurations of P3HT:PCBM using ATLAS, a licensed device simulation tool. Double layered and Bulk Hetero junction devices were simulated for comparing their power conversion efficiency, fill factor, short circuit current and open circuit voltage. Bulk heterojunction device with the hole transport layer PEDOT: PSS and a buffer layer of LiF over Aluminium cathode has shown a better power conversion efficiency at optimum active layer thickness.
