Multistage Implementation of Multirate CIC Filters

In this paper a multistage multirate CIC filter has been compared with a FIR Filter. FIR filters are widely used in implementation of Digital Filters, but with some disadvantages like higher number of computational coefficients requirement and less computational speed. In this work we have shown that CIC filters are better choice than the single stage CIC or FIR Filters for multirate filtering structures and further improvement can be made by cascading different stages of CIC Filters.
