The edible lobster, Thenus orientalis is an important food of commercial interest in the parts of South India. Evaluation of toxic effect of lead on the chosen animal for the LC50 value and effect of heavy metal lead on the nutritional status viz. protein, carbohydrate and lipid in ovary, spermatheca, hepatopancreas, muscle and haemolymph was made.
