Application of Sensors for Virtual Learning Communities Supporting Disaster Prevention Scenarios

Objectives: This document proposes a model that describes: A Disaster Care System, the communities that comprise it and how they can exchange experiences to carry out joint actions of assistance to people who are at risk. Methods: This job used a methodology called AMENITIES to model the cooperative behavior of disaster care communities. A simulated scenario is presented using the FHMIPv6/MPLS protocols showing cooperation among community members when dealing with a disaster situation. Findings: We consider that it is important that each of the communities that offer support in the event of an eventuality caused by some kind of disaster, can access useful information to carry out assistance plans. A problem of technological isolation is identified which makes it impossible to carry out collaborative scenarios to care for people at risk. We present a model that provides solutions to the problem and a simulated scenario is performed to validate the utility of the proposed model. Applications: The cooperative modeling and exchange of experiences among community members provide useful guides that allow different cooperating peers to be coordinated when dealing with a disaster situation. It is also novel the validation of the model supported in the FHMIPv6/MPLS protocol.
