Mycorrhizae in Eucalyptus

   Subscribe/Renew Journal

Species of Eucalyptus planted extensively in India as fast growing exotic develop ectotrophic mycorrhizae of the pyramidal type. Mycorrhiza forming fungi in eucalypts are many, of which scteroderma verrucosum and S.cepa have been identified and described. Mycorrhiza developed in pure culture synthesis by using spores of S. Verrucosum. This method may be used in introducing, mycorrhiza, should this become necessary in plantings.
