A further Contribution to the Study of Phenology and Nursery Behaviour of Andaman Timber Species

In their comprehensive study, Ganapathy and Rangarajan (1964) described the compositional characteristics of the forests of Andaman Islands, their response in physiological behaviour to climatic factors and studied in detail the more important Island timber species. The favourable response to this study from foresters of the Mainland and tropical foresters elsewhere has encouraged this contribution. Majority of the species described in this paper are those found to a limited extent in the Andaman Islands but which are popular world over for their special characteristics as timbers of rare qualities.
