A Record of some New Lac Hosts from Punjab and Possibilities of Lac Cultivation in the State

To sum up it may be said that the State of Punjab is quite rich in both indigenous as well as exotic lac host flora, with as many as 26 recorded species (7 being exclusive for the State), and if fair trials in accordance with the latest techniques are given there are immense possibilities of successful cultivation of, lac in the State and localities like Hoshiarpur can serve ideal for establishment of brood lac farms.
