The Relation of Leaf Size to Root Structure in Trifolium Repens

It is shown that restrlction of leaf size may be produced by the mechanical operation of cutting or crushing the leaf. These actions interfere with the nutrition of the ischolar_main, thus affecting ischolar_main range. A restricted ischolar_main range results in a limited water supply, which automatically produces a smaller leaf, and consequently a smaller area of transpiration. Direct ischolar_main-pruning produces the same phenomenon. Soil acidity may occur throughout the whole of the soil, or in strata. When acidity restricts ischolar_main development, leaf size is also reduced, in proportion to the degree of ischolar_main restriction.
