Erodibility Characterisation of some Soils of Vttar Pradesh

   Subscribe/Renew Journal

Three important soil groups of Uttar Pradesh, viz., Alluvial, Bundelkhand and Vindhyan were selected to uetermine their relative erodibility. Erosion ratio and dispersion ratio were taken as the criteria to rank the soils in the order of their increasing erodibility. The order of erodibility in general is Bundelkhand > Alluvial> Vindhyan soils. The surface soils have been found to be more erodible than sub-surface soils in all the soil types. Vlndhyan soil1 are structurally more developed than Alluvial and Bundelkhand soils. The soils of all the three regions seem to be highly eroctive and require proper soil conservation measures.
