Change is a fact of life for the air transport industry, and innovation is often a major driver of that change. As an innovator in IT and communications, SITA has been at the forefront of many new transforming technologies that have radically improved the way the air transport industry works. Guided by the industry's need for reduced costs, greater competitiveness, improved profitability and operational performance, SITA as a company strives to drive new advances in the global air transport industry, while exploring new revenue channels and also enhancing the passenger experience-making air travel easier, safer and hassle-free. This case is about a technology innovator, set to provide next generation technology for the benefit of the entire air transport community, in the process dramatically changing the journey for passengers and the operations of the industry. As SITA commemorates its 60th anniversary in 2009, this case traces its journey over six decades and looks ahead at the technological advances that will bring about a revolution in air travel. Keywords

Tourism is a growth industry and a major creator of value added, the industry is vulnerable to a variety of economic, ecological, geopolitical and meteorological factors, which shape the nature of its labour force. The fact that it is difficult to maintain high permanent staffing levels has led to a generic tendency to operate on the basis of a limited core staff and to employ the labour needed for day-to-day operations under atypical contractual arrangements, because of which the economic rents from continuous learning and experience of the staff are lost to a great extent. Added to this are other constraints like long, anti-social working hours, low pay, low job status, etc, which collectively make employment within the industry appear unattractive to many. This paper briefly outlines the human resources problems faced by the tourism industry in India and against this background the authors propose a tourism training strategy model for enhancing employability in India. There is a pressing need to develop a common minimum standard to upgrade skills to acceptable level and facilitate cross national tourism. Capacity building to increase awareness, value and skills for the creation, development and implementation of sustainable tourism projects assume a much greater importance today. Keywords

The advent of Artificial Intelligence Technologies (AIT) has a transformational impact on HRM domain. This research proposes an integrated model related to factors that impact the adoption of Artificial Intelligence in the HR function. The study deploys a framework of the Technology-Organization-Environment model enhanced by Technology-Adoption-Model. The proposed model provides key insights to support researchers to enhance assimilation, and forge ahead in the research on the organizational perspective of the adoption of AIT in HRM. The model is appropriately linked to the decision- makers and HR professionals. The research provides a foundation for detailed empirical studies related to the factors impacting the adoption of AIT.References
