Indian government servants are being increasingly criticized of inefficiency, ineffectiveness and corruption. Of the many reasons being cited one repeated with almost unbroken continuity and, perhaps most forcefully, is "dilution of the values of government servants". Despite this, one could hardly find any authentic study aimed at understanding the value structure of Indian government servants.
