In this paper broad phenological aspects of vegetation of Pulwama are reported. The studies reveal that the vegetation of Pulwama is in general seasonal and governed by the environmental factors. The life span of the plants are broadly classified as short-term and longterm plants.

The present paper discusses the exotic trees and shrubs of Kashmir which include about 90 per cent of woody elements grown in the valley. The exotics of Kashmir have their native homes in three principal regions: Sino-Japanese region, Mediterranean region and N. American region, contributing 38, 45 and 12 per cent of our exotics respectively. 118 exotic woody taxa are listed. Three microclimatic factors; soil temperature, air temperatare and soil moisture are considered for their interrelationships and variations as influenced by altitude, topography and plant cover, within an altitudinal range of 1,700-2,300 m, in Dachhigam sanctuary Kashmir. An increase in soil moisture and decrease in temperatures is exhibited with altitudinal increase, shift from southern to northern exposure and from herbaceous to tree cover. Nelumbo - The Bulletin of the Botanical Survey of India, Vol 13, No 1-2 (1971), Pagination: 46-52Abstract
The paper presents floristic and ecological study of three diverse habitats towards the north of Srinagar. 162 species of flowering plants are enumerated. Data concerning frequency and phenological pattern of the species found in these habitats reveal that short lived early flowering species are predominant in exposed habitats with loose soil structure and perennial forms in shady compact-soil habitats. Shading produces a lag in the phenological pattern of species. Late flowering species are mostly restricted under shaded tree canopy.Full Text

In Part I was reviewed taxonomy of Indian Hepaticae since Mitten and lacunae and areas of further investigation in the group were also discussed. Part II dealt with families Takakiaceae through Marsupellaceae and Part III with Plagiochilaceae through Pleuroziaceae. Under both-were listed currently recognised genera and valid species, and hitherto known synonyms, critical notes and keys to identification of species where warranted. Distribution of genera and species in need of revision was also given. In this paper a taxonomic survey of the family Lejeuneaceae is dealt with. The various genera, species, their correct nomenclature and distribution are presented.Full Text
