Abstract

The process of edge detection plays a significant role in image processing and vision processing. True edge detection is very difficult to achieve because intensity varies sharply and has discontinuities. Many methods have been developed by researchers in last few years. After studying the literature on color edge detection, we figured out that advanced algorithm using fuzzy logics have attained high figure of merit (FOM) value of 1with small threshold values but as the value grows higher the FOM value reduces. In this paper an algorithm has been proposed in order to achieve high figure of merit by varying threshold in color edge detection.  In this algorithm, there is an improvement over previously proposed edge detection using fusion of hue-difference and PCA image. The results are promising.

Abstract

Edge is the important feature of image. The image edges contain rich knowledge which is very important for finding characteristic of image by object recognition. It is the commonly used technique in image processing.This paper shows a fuzzy rule based algorithm that is capable of finding edges effectively from grey scale images. This paper presents that kind of operators in computer vision applications. The gradient and standard deviation is used as input for fuzzy system. The algorithm in which fusion of hue component and principal component are implemented and then the results are compared with modified fuzzy based algorithm.

Abstract

This paper describes the various processing methods that are available in the literature for the cancellation of the Power Line Interference (PLI) predominant in the bio-potentials. Especially while analyzing the Fetal Electrocardiography(FECG) non-invasively i.e, recording obtained from the maternal abdomen, there is the presence of a noise component and that particular strong noise component is PLI signal which is sometimes 10 times greater than FECG signal. In this review paper, different principles of minimizing PLI have been studied and analyzed.

Abstract

A digital filter is a system that uses discrete time signal as input and produce a discrete time output signal for the purpose of achieving a filter objective. Parks-McClellan method provides optimum equiripple approximation to the desired frequency response and has become the dominant method for optimum design of FIR filters. The filter design process can be described as an optimization problem where each requirement contributes with the term to an error function which should be minimized. This paper deals with the various optimization methods and approaches applied for linear phase FIR filtering. A brief performance comparison of these techniques is also performed.

Abstract

This paper describes review on various types of designing of filter. For this study and discussion some papers based on filter design methods are reviewed and analyzed. For this first we will discuss about filters and then analysis of their types and later review on various filter designs. Filters discussed in this paper are chebyshev filter, butterworth filter and comb filter.
