Android Based Library Applications of Educational Institutes in India: An Overview

The present study aims to know the status of Android Base Education Institute Library Apps. Most of the apps are embedded with Google Play store. Hence total 33 Education Institute Library Apps were selected which are available on Google play for the study. Total 114 features were identified. Indian institute of management, Ahmadabad library app provides maximum features (63). Commercial developer such as Knimbus and Refread have developed most of the apps. The study reveals that very few institutes especially Engineering and Research Institutes develop apps exclusively for libraries.
