A Study of Defense Mechanisms of Tribal and Non Tribal Individuals

The influence of culture has been recognized by the researchers and experts of nearly every field in the present times. The present study is an attempt to study the cultural differences in the employing defense mechanisms. For the purpose, an exploratory research was conducted with purposive sampling of tribal and non tribal individuals. A sample of 24(12 tribals & 12 non tribals) was taken by employing Rorschach inkblot test (RIBT). The Rorschach defense mechanism scales were employed on the responses of the RIBT. It was revealed that there were differences in the defense mechanisms employed by the tribals and non tribals.
