The Impact of Abuse and Neglect on Well-Being of Adolescent

The major objective of the present studyt is to explore the nature of child abuse.neglect and well-being in adolescent. A2(Boys and Girls) X2 (High abused and Low abused) two way factorial design was used.A total 160 children's(16 to 18yrs.) were randomly selected from urban area of Gorakhpur city. The high abused and low abused groups of children were categorized on the basis of median score obtain on child abused checklist (mdn=132.5). WHO Wellbeing index (Psychiatric Research Unit WHO Collaborating centre) and Child abuse Checklist (S. Pandey) tests were administrated on each of the group. The obtained results indicates that the Mam effect of child abuse were significant, which evinced that high abused adolescents show poor well being than low abused adolescents. Similarly, significant main effects of gender x child abuse interaction were found significant.
