Epigallocatechin gallate is the most abundant catechin, it is present in plants, Solanum nigrum is a medicinal plant with many phytochemicals in them. The cell cycle is a normal process although if controlled can lead to cancer, the uncontrolled proliferation of the cells are controlled by the antioxidant compounds present in them. This present study is to done on the fact that antioxidants in plants act as anticancer agents.Keywords

The non enzymic antioxidant activities in the leaves of Zeamays were identified in four different time periods of their growth namely 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th day after their sowing. The results showed that all the non enzymic antioxidants were found to increase with the age of the leaves. The hepatoprotective effect of Zeamays leaves were analyzed by using in vivo model and inferred that CCl4 induces the liver cirrohosis and it was controlled by Zeamays leaves extract group and Vitamin-E group . The antimutagenic activity of Zeamays leaves were confirmed in Ames testKeywords
