Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin produced by clostridium botulinium. Toxin are classified into type A-G, type A toxin being the most common commercially available type. The toxin act at the neuromuscular junction and prevent the action of acetylcholine in the junction thus cause paralysis of the involved muscle. This principle of the toxin has been used in the medical practice to treat many diseases, similarly the toxin has role in various ENT diseases.
