Abstract

This proposed study tries to find the investors perception about process of mergers. This study also tries to find the influence of profile of investors on their perception about process of mergers. This study is fully based on primary data. Data have been collected from 513 equity investors in Chennai and Puducherry. The statistical tools of simple mean, cluster analysis, discriminant analysis, chi-square test, correspondence analysis, ANOVA, post-hoc analysis and canonical correlation have been adopted to analyse the data. This study finds that the equity investors feel that SEBI is effectively controlling the process of M & A. This study also finds that the profile of investors is not influencing their perception about process of mergers.

Abstract

This study is undertaken to understand whether brand exercise is possible in rice. The study is mainly focused on the price preference and switching behaviour of rice purchasers because the brand exercise is possible only when there is no perfect competition and price differentiation possible. The study is conducted among 150 rice Mandi owners in Chennai. The study results show that the preference for particular variety of rice is due to quality and switching also takes place only due to quality and the consumers are preferred to buy in 20-25 kg bags rather than loose quantities. This indicates that the branding is possible in rice also.

Abstract

Behavioural finance is a new discipline in finance which studies the investor's biases and their investment decisions. Emotion is one of the psychological factors which create biases among individual's investment decisions. This paper tries to find out whether individual's emotions determine their investment personality or not. For that purpose, multi stage sampling technique is adopted to collect the data from 742 retail investors who are accessing Indian stock market. The collected data are quantitatively analyzed by using AMOS, STATA, SPSS and SEM model. Findings of this study suggested that investor's emotion based intuitiveness affects their investment personality.
