Oxidation of flavanone with hydrogen peroxide catalysed by 5, 10,15,20-tetra-(2', 6'-dichlorophenyl) porphyrinatoiron(III)chlorides gives trans-3-hydroxy-flavanones, and flavones in CTAB reverse micellar conditions. The yields of oxidation products are higher in CTAB reverse micellar conditions than in homogeneous and phase transfer conditions.

Abstract

Oxidation of flavanone with hydrogen peroxide catalysed by 5, 10,15,20-tetra-(2', 6'-dichlorophenyl) porphyrinatoiron(III)chlorides gives trans-3-hydroxy-flavanones, and flavones in CTAB reverse micellar conditions. The yields of oxidation products are higher in CTAB reverse micellar conditions than in homogeneous and phase transfer conditions.
