Algal Flora of Howrah District, West Bengal, India

The present study records occurance of 238 algal taxa belonging to seven Classes - Chlorophyceae (103 spp.), Cyanophyceae (63 spp.), Bacillariophyceae (59 spp.), Euglenophyceae (10 spp.), Xanthophyceae (1 sp.), Dinophyceae (1 sp.) and Rhodophyceae (1 sp.) from Howrah District, West Bengal during 2005-2008. The species have been chumerated their currently accepted name along with brief description, distribution and voucher specimens.
