Algal flora of Vikramsila Gangetic Dolphin Sanctuary (Bihar) is documented for the first time with a record of sixty five taxa including 13 taxa of Cyanophyceae of 11 genera, 24 taxa of Chlorophyceae of 15 genera, 21 taxa of Bacillariophyceae of 16 genera, 5 taxa of Euglenophyceae of 1 genus and one taxon each under Dinophyceae and Xanthophyceae. Six algal taxa, e.g. Aphanocapsa incerta (Lemmerm.) Cornberg & Komarek, Chroococcopsis epiphytica Geitler, Cosmarium ornatum Ralfs ex Ralfs, Euastrum verrucosum Ehrenb. ex Ralfs var. reductum Nordst., Navicula parietina Kutz. and Entomoneis alata (Ehrenb.)
