The abnormal movements often occur in lumbar region and they cause pains commonly. The number of painful people is increasing and researchers have studied to find the most proper physical therapy treatment. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect of abdominal drawing-in maneuver exercise with unstable surface for the people with lumbar rotation. We hypothesized that people who exercise abdominal drawing-in maneuver with foam-roller would display decreased abnormal lumbopelvic rotation and achieve the better control ability after performing hip extension on a foam-roller. Kinematic data collected before and after intervention for hip extension on quadruped were analyzed. The subjects (N=9) displayed significantly decreased lumbopelvic rotation degree. This finding suggests that people with lumbar rotation can improve their ability to control lumbopelvic movement by exercising abdominal drawing-in maneuver with foam-roller.
