A study is made to estimate the amount of dust deposited on the leaf surfaces of ten plants species. The investigation provides a valuable idea of the relative dust capturing capacity of these species and underscores the importance of plants in mitigating dust pollution in the environment.- Foliar Constituents of the Food Plants of Tasar Silkworm, Antheraea mylitta Drury

Satellite imageries are the indispensable source of information for weather prediction. The image data from weather satellites is acquired in real time, but the preprocessing, information retrieval, and image products generation are generally implemented as offline activities to be carried out by the human experts. This work aims at generation of ready to use image products in real time. A Look-Up-Table (LUT) based method has been developed for encoding the processed information into the image. This paper describes the methodology employed to generate the Conventional Image Products in general and the Bispectral Hybrid Image Products in particular. On trial basis this method is being used in the automated system which is operational at Master Control Facility-Hassan, India to generate real-time, ready to use image products embedded with processed information. The resulting image is compared with the EUMETSAT (European Meteorological Satellite) image. The images taken by the spacecrafts, for the same day and same time were compared and it is found that there is a good agreement in the temperature ranges of the features represented in both the images. Keywords
