A Generalisation of Winquist’s Identity and a Conjecture of Ramanujan

In a paper which appeared in 1919, S. Ramanujan [1] made the conjecture, among others, that p(11n+6)≡0 mod 11. His proof was published posthumously [2], but it was not until fully fifty years had elapsed that an elementary proof, due to L. Winquist [3] appeared.
