By a spiral for the purpose of this note we shall mean a simple curve σ defined by a continuous function z = z(t), 0 < t < 1, such that ¦z(t)¦ < 1, lim ¦z(t)¦ = 1 and the closure of σ contains the circumference K : {z : | z | = 1}.
