Reuss [5] found out the yield pressure on the internal boundary of a homogeneous isotropic spherical shell and obtained the pressure on the internal boundary needed to produce a plastic flow upto a certain radius. Since then some investigations have been made on the effects of non-homogeneity on elasto-plastic stresses in pressure vessels. Olsak and Urbanowski [4] discussed the problem of thick walled spherical shell of incompressible material, radially non-homogeneous, subjected to the action of internal and external pressure.

Abstract

Reuss [5] found out the yield pressure on the internal boundary of a homogeneous isotropic spherical shell and obtained the pressure on the internal boundary needed to produce a plastic flow upto a certain radius. Since then some investigations have been made on the effects of non-homogeneity on elasto-plastic stresses in pressure vessels. Olsak and Urbanowski [4] discussed the problem of thick walled spherical shell of incompressible material, radially non-homogeneous, subjected to the action of internal and external pressure.
