Importance of Education in Women Empowerment

Increasing literacy indicates the economic development, social and cultural awareness of common people, historical background and superior political thoughts of any region. There fore ,analysis of literacy rate of any region or class reflects the complete structure and composition of the population. In 2011 census children with 6 years of age were considered illiterate. In 2001, 64.83% of total population of India were literate. In 2001 literacy rate was 73%. The male literacy rate is 82.14% and female literacy rate is 63.46%. The decadal literacy gape between two period is 9.2%. Literacy rate in 2001-11 is 17.64% which is less then 21.54% of 1991-2001 literacy rate. The expenditure on education is 3.8% of GDP in India. According to 2011 census there is considerable progress in women literacy. Male literacy growth rate is 5.6% where in female it is 10.9%. The decadal literacy growth rate in female is 18.12%.

According to economic survey 2014 -15 the objectives of a new programme for safety and education of girls 'Save the daughter "Teach the daughter 'is to spread awareness and to change the mentality of the society. This may give solution to girls education and other such problem.
