United Nations University Program on Food, Nutrition, and Poverty

The United Nations University, in recent years, has initiated a number of projects designed to solve specific problems pertaining to world population and world food supply. The University is a dispersed institution and has the great advantage of being able to conduct investigations at places or in countries where the problems occur or are most acute. A concise statement of the objectives of the program and a summary of some of the current activities is given in a Report of the Council of the United Nations University (UNU 1983 a) Following is a statement from page 9 of this Report.
