We report a case of thyroid tuberculosis (TTB) who presented with symptoms of thyrotoxicosis. Ultrasonography(USG) was suggestive of cold abscess within the thyroid gland. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) was showing caseation necrosis and acid fast bacilli were seen by ziehl neelson staining of the FNA material. Patient made an uneventful recovery with antitubercular medication. Although seldom observed, tuberculosis(TB) should be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of nodular lesions of the thyroid. It is one of the conditions where FNAC can avoid the need for surgery.
