Telecom Industry in India:Evolution, Current Challenges & Future Road Map

Telecom industry is growing at a rapid pace in India. Today, India’s Telecom sector stands second in the world in terms of market share. Contribution of mobile phone industry as a part of gross domestic product (GDP) of the country in 2014 has been to the tune of US$ 400 billion. Based on the data available from Groupe Speciale Mobile Association (GSMA), this sector will create close to 4 million additional jobs by 2020.
While Telecom sector is witnessing spectacular growth, it is also facing some major hurdles both in the area of government regulations as also consistent demand from customers to enhance customer service.
