Approximately seven hundred Mexican American college students in South Texas were surveyed via an anonymous questionnaire to determine the following: 1) views regarding religion, the paranormal, and science, and 2) whether they view themselves as politically conservative versus politically liberal. A second questionnaire (the BFI-44) was utilized to evaluate personality traits (openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism). It was hypothesized, and the results verified, that political attitudes, religiosity, and views toward science among Mexican American college students relate to several personality traits.
