Art and Education in Texas and Mexico: Mexican Americans and the “Nutcracker”

The arts are an often neglected but important part of the education of young Mexican Americans in South Texas and Mexico. The performing arts especially dance are available through private companies. Costs and efforts are shared with public schools, exposing students to such classics as "Cascanueces" (The Nutcracker).
