An Application of Tessellated Clay Brick Design for Pedestrian Pavement

The process to create identity includes an increased for pavements. Its will contribute to a city's image and character, making it more friendly and lively. Since streets are seen first upon entering a neighborhood, they make a substantial impression on that character. In this research, the researcher uses a case study approach to explore the ways of arrangement of tessellation concept as paver (shapeinterlocking) in Taman Tasik Shah Alam. The research focuses on the inclusions of the Malay motif as shape paver to enhance beautifications in landscaping aid. The purpose of the study is to evaluate a new landscape aid (clay brick paver with Malay traditional pattern) that adopt Malay motif on surface clay paver to create identity of belonging landscape. The goal of this research is to develop a process of clay brick paver for surface covers in landscape which enhance and improve the aesthetic quality environment. Throughout this paper, the researcher has explored the ways in selecting interlocking systems that can create patterns using the concept of tessellation. Through the descriptions, constructions and representations, the understanding of the concept tessellation will help designer to create their own patterns.
