In recent times, the exponential increase of theft and misuse of automobiles has generated concern around the globe resulting in the extensive research in this field of Security systems for automobiles. This paper introduces a new concept of the car security system which includes two spheres of security system-External and Internal. The internal sphere provides a user interface and a visitor interface. The entire setup consists of an LCD display, keypad, biometric sensor(for finger print recognition) and microcontroller. There is a user interface where the owner of the car sets a password for himself and stores the sample of his thumbprint in the finger recognition system in the car. If the owner is in an unconscious state, the miscreant can access his/her car by placing his/her thumb on the finger sensor. This flaw has been improvised in our system. If the owner is unconscious, password cannot be entered unless he attains his conscious state and thus the car can be protected by user interface. The owner of the car would have to set a password for any visitor who wishes to access his car for e.g In Government or company cars , every car is accessed by many people. When the visitor wants to access the car, he should choose the option of the User Mode or Visitor Mode. Once he has chosen the Visitor mode he has to enter his password to start the car. There are three trials for the visitor to enter his correct assigned password. If he types a wrong password for the fourth time, the alarm is triggered and a message will go to the owner’s mobile through GSM transmitter that someone is trying to misuse his/her car. The microcontroller is programmed in such a way that the password is valid only once for a visitor. If the user forgets to save the new password in the database and meanwhile the visitor types the previous password, an SMS will be sent to the user requesting for a new password. Thus only the authenticated person can gain access to the owner’s car and thus the car is protected from being misused through the visitor interface. The main inclusion of the Biometric system is that it authenticates the owner and thus prevents external intrusions in the car system. This concept gives a new dimension to the world of car security system. The External system combines the use of 3 sensors; Pressure sensor, Touch Sensor, Tilt Sensor. The combination of these sensors prevents theft of items and expensive automobile parts. The Entire sense system is interfaced with the micro controller so that the ‘Smart’ concept is integrated. Also the use of Rolling Code Algorithms has given enhanced security in the auto sector.
