Abstract

Agricultural labour market is one of the important factor markets as far as income and employment of the agricultural labourers are concerned. These labourers not only form a significant portion of total labour force of the country, but have also constituted a majority of the lowest income strata of the society. This is reflected from the theories relating to their emergence, as well as, the empirical evidences.
