A field experiment was conducted during kharif season 2007-08 on farmers’ fields at Rottigawada village in Kundagol taluka of Dharwad district (Karnataka) to evaluate the suitability of site specific nutrient management on yield and nutrient uptake of chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) through targeted yield approach for fertilizer recommendations. The pooled data of three experimental locations indicated that, the targeted yield of 30 q ha-1 recorded significantly higher yield (28.43 q/ha). The nutrient uptake and available nutrient status was higher at targeted yield of 30 q ha-1. The pest and disease complex increased with increasing targeted yield levels. The higher net return was recorded in the targeted yield level of 30 q ha-1 (Rs. 1,25,788 ha-1). However, B:C ratio was higher in the targeted yield level treatment of 25 q ha-1 (2.58).
