Three simple spectrophotometric methods have been developed for simultaneous estimation of Moxifloxacin HCl and Ketorolac Tromethamine from ophthalmic dosage form. Acidic methanol was used as solvent. Method-I involves, formation of Q-absorbance equation at 307 nm (isoabsorptive point) and 295 nm (λmax of Moxifloxacin); Method-II simultaneous equation method involves the measurement of absorbance at two wavelength 295 (λmax of Moxifloxacin) and 320 (λmax of Ketorolac Tromethamine) and Method-III multicomponent mode of analysis involves measurement of absorbance at two wavelength 295 (λmax of Moxifloxacin) and 320 (λmax of Ketorolac Tromethamine); The linearity lies between 1-14 μg/ml for Moxifloxacin and 1-14 μg/ml for Ketorolac Tromethamine for all the three methods. The accuracy and precision of methods were determined and validated statistically. All the method showed good reproducibility and recovery with % RSD less than 1.5. All methods were found to be rapid, specific, precise and accurate and can be successfully applied for the routine analysis of Moxifloxacin HCl and Ketorolac Tromethamine in bulk and ophthalmic dosage form.
