Effectiveness of Planned Teaching Programmeon Knowledge Regarding First Aid in Selected Conditions among Primary School Teachers Working in Selected Schools, at Adarsh Nagar, Jaipur

Background of the study: - Children represent the future, and ensuring their healthy growth and development ought to be a prime concern of all societies. Injuries and accidents are the leading causes of death in children worldwide. Children are prone to unintentional injuries because their bodies are developing and they have not yet learned to be aware both of themselves and various environmental dangers. First aid is the immediate care of injured and ill. The aim of first aid is to preserve life, prevent illness or injury from becoming worse.

Objectives: - 1. Toassess the pretest and post test knowledge of primary schools teachers regarding selected conditions of first aid. 2. To determine the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge of primary schools teachers regarding first aid in selected conditions.

Methodology: - The research design adopted for this study was one group pre-test, post test Pre-experimental design and research approach adopted for this was to evaluative the educative approach. The sample size was 60 primary school teachers selected by non probability convenient sampling techniques. Data was collected by using structured questionnaire, this consists of two sections. Section Ion Demographic variables and Section II on Questionnaire regarding knowledge. Results:-The pre test knowledge mean score of the primary schools teachers was 10.53 (35.11%) and the knowledge was inadequate. In post test the mean score was 23.03 (76.77%) and the knowledge was adequate. It is observed that there is significant difference between pre test and post test knowledge mean score. This 41.66% of knowledge gain is the net benefit of this study which indicates that there is effectiveness of planned teaching programme on first aid in selected condition among primary school teachers. Conclusion: - The findings of the study showed that a community health nurse conducted training programme regarding selected condition of first aid among the primary school teachers. The study revealed that the level of knowledge regarding first aid was low among school teachers and concluded that need for providing knowledge on selected condition of first aid is an important strategy to utilize teachers as effective contributors towards child health services.
