Abstract
If knowledge were not expressive through language so that human brain could receive it, interpret it, and otherwise manipulate it, the achievement of knowledge would be impossible for man. Language as symbol epitomizes knowledge, and is the instrument by which the brain is able to comprehend knowledge, largely determines conduct and behavior. Ranganathan hus attempted to build a bibliographic classification upon epistemological principles. Librarianship as the science of the management of knowledge, merges with epistemology. Therefore, the aim of education for librarianship is the training of the intellect in matters pertaining to human knowledge.
